Systemic therapy
‘No man is an island’. Systemic therapy addresses problems in the context of peoples’ relationships with significant others in their lives and their social networks. It is a well- recognized psychotherapy approach primarily aimed at the family system and / or any group of people ('a system').
At Psychology South Essex we can meet with individuals, couples, families or other groups to help you find what works for you and those around you. We look at existing strengths and resources within the family (or any chosen group of people) and how these can be developed further. Sometimes there are a variety of different ideas within the family or an organisation on what the problem is and how to manage it. It can be helpful to work together on changes that might be useful. We do not take sides but try to offer support and guidance to help create real change that can benefit everyone in the system.
